Hey there, pull up a seat. Don’t mind the mess. Just push it aside and give me a moment of your time.
I’m Tony, proud owner of The Blue Ridge Almanac, a small, Veteran owned business rooted in the mountains of Western North Carolina. I spent over 20 years serving our Nation before retiring in the summer of 2020, right in the middle of COVID and all the uncertainty that came with it. During that transition, I went back to school, earned my MBA from Wake Forest, and stepped into the world of Finance, where I still work today.
But something was missing.
I found myself drawn back to a life that once felt second nature. These days, my camera is how I reconnect with it. During my time in service, photography often meant working in some of the harshest conditions, and I have come to realize I miss that edge. Now, most weekends, you will find me up before dawn, chasing light through the mountains until I land on a trail, an overlook, or simply a place that feels right. Rain or shine, heat or cold, it does not matter. There is clarity in the discomfort. It quiets everything else.
What started as a personal outlet has grown into something far more meaningful. Over the past few years, I have had the privilege of capturing moments for incredible people, your stories, your families, your milestones. That kind of trust is not lost on me. It fuels everything I do.
Thank you for your time, your trust, and for being part of this journey. Because at the end of the day, it is not just mine. It is ours.
Let’s create something worth holding onto.
Cheers!
Tony M.
